1. Introduction
GOSE WEALTH ("we", "us", "our") develops and operates Vedadarshi ("the app"), a Vedic/Hindu astrology app for Android (package name com.gosewealth.vedadarshi), available in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the rights you have over it.
This policy applies to Vedadarshi wherever it is used, though our primary user base is in India.
2. What we collect
We collect only the information described below. We do not collect anything beyond this list.
2.1 Account identity
The app uses Firebase Authentication and supports three sign-in methods:
- Email address and password — your email address identifies your account, and is also the address we send a password-reset link to if you ask for one. Passwords are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication: they are stored only as salted hashes on Google's servers, and neither GOSE WEALTH nor the app ever sees or stores your password.
- Google Sign-In — this gives the app your email address and basic Google profile information (such as your name).
- Guest / anonymous sign-in — no personal identifiers are collected with this option.
2.2 Birth profile
To generate your astrology charts, we store a birth profile for you (and for any additional profiles you create, such as for family members) containing: full name, gender, date of birth, time of birth (or a flag indicating the time is unknown), and birth city details including the city name, state, country code, latitude, longitude, and timezone.
2.3 AI chat history
When you ask the in-app AI assistant a question, we store your question, the AI's answer, the language used, and a conversation identifier.
2.4 AI usage counters
We keep a daily count of how many AI questions you have asked, used to enforce the question limits associated with your plan.
2.5 Push notification tokens
We store a notification token for each device you use, so we can send you notifications.
2.6 Approximate location (optional)
The Panchang and daily timings shown in the app depend on where you are, because sunrise, Rahu Kaal and the choghadiya windows differ from city to city. If you grant the optional location permission, the app takes a low-accuracy fix and immediately resolves it to the nearest city from a list bundled inside the app. Only that city — its name and coordinates — is used to request your Panchang. The raw GPS reading never leaves your device, and we do not store your location against your account.
This is entirely optional. You can decline the permission, or choose your city manually at any time, and the rest of the app works exactly the same. The app requests coarse (city-level) location only; it never requests precise location.
2.7 Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your card or bank details.
2.8 What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your precise location, and we do not store any location against your account. See section 2.6 for the optional, city-level location used for Panchang timings.
- We do not collect your phone number. The app has no SMS or phone-number sign-in, and never asks for a mobile number.
- We do not ever see or store your password — see section 2.1.
- We do not use analytics.
- We do not use crash reporting.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- The app requests only two Android permissions, both optional: POST_NOTIFICATIONS (to send you push notifications) and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (city-level only, for Panchang timings — see section 2.6). It never requests ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION.
3. Why we collect it
We use this information strictly to operate the app: to authenticate you, to generate accurate astrology charts and readings based on your birth details, to power the AI chat assistant and enforce fair usage limits, to send you notifications you have opted into, and to process purchases through Google Play.
4. Legal basis / consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you create an account and enter your birth details, and as necessary to provide the service you have requested. You may withdraw consent at any time, as described in Section 8 below, though this may limit or end your ability to use the app.
5. Third parties
We share data only with the service providers necessary to run the app, and only for the purposes described:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Hosting) — the core infrastructure we use for accounts, data storage, backend logic, and notifications.
- Vedika (vedika.io) — our astrology calculation and AI provider. Your birth details (date, time, latitude/longitude, timezone) and the text of your AI questions are sent to Vedika so it can compute your charts and generate answers.
- Google Play Billing — handles all purchases. We do not see your payment card or bank details.
- Google Places API — when you search for your birth city, the text you type is sent to Google to return matching city suggestions.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
6. Data retention
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account remains active, so that the app can continue to function for you. If you request deletion of your account (see our Account & Data Deletion page), we delete the data categories described there. Purchase and transaction records are retained by Google Play under Google's own policies for accounting and legal purposes, independent of your Vedadarshi account status.
7. Security
We rely on Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure, which provides industry-standard technical and organizational security measures (such as encrypted data transmission and access controls) to help protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy
Vedadarshi is not directed at children. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), a "child" is defined as anyone under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you may only use the app with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian. If we become aware that we hold personal data from a child without appropriate parental/guardian consent, we will take steps to delete that data.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act, 2023, for users in India), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data — most birth profile fields can be edited directly in the app.
- Delete your account and associated data — see our Account & Data Deletion page for how.
- Withdraw consent at any time, which may result in us no longer being able to provide parts of the service.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how we handle your data, using the contact details below.

10. International data transfer
Because we rely on Firebase (Google) and Vedika infrastructure, your data may be processed on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we rely on our service providers' own safeguards for cross-border data handling.
